If any MX racers are interested, there will be a supermoto series this year at Saratoga Speedway (20 minutes north of Courtenay). A Sportsman Class allows MX bikes to race by simply changing tires to a non-knobby DOT tire (we have a deal worked out with Pirelli for the Scorpion MT90 A/T tire for $210 per set). The schedule will be out soon and we're making sure that the dates won't interfere with the Island MX Series. For more info contact Dean at racer62@shaw.ca

no knobby class i guess The first 2 practice dates (to be announced) will allow knobbies, after that you'll have to use a street type tire. There are actually quite a few street bike tires for cheap that fit the stock dirt bike rims. It'll be a very inexpensive class of racing since 1 set of tires will last for at least a whole season, and some of the bike shops in Comox and Campbell River have already agreed to help out the dirt bikers by only charging $10 to swap a set of tires over. |

Do you guys have a website to get any info from or are you just gonna post stuff here? The clubs website is still set up for the roadracing series we were running, but it will soon be updated to show the supermoto series, with dates and rules, etc. Give it a week or so and check out www.srrc.ca |

Here's a quick schematic of the type of course layout we will likely use:
